American Airlines Launches Cozy Pajamas for Business Class Travelers

American Airlines is enhancing its business-class experience by introducing complimentary pajamas for passengers. Starting in August, travelers flying in business class on select wide-body flights will receive unisex pajama sets designed for comfort during long-haul journeys.

These pajamas will be available on flights departing from major hubs, including Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The service will cater to flights heading to distant destinations across East Asia, India, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand, providing an extra layer of comfort for travelers on lengthy flights.

The pajama sets, which consist of a comfortable shirt and jogger-style pants, have been developed in collaboration with Nest Bedding, a brand known for its commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable sleep products. Passengers can choose between two sizes: small/medium and large/extra-large, ensuring a good fit for a variety of body types. Additionally, American Airlines plans to reintroduce mattress toppers later this summer, further enhancing the in-flight experience for business-class travelers.

In recent years, many airlines have scaled back on providing amenities like pajamas, but the trend is making a comeback. This shift seems to align with a growing demand for luxury travel options as leisure travel patterns evolve in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For those interested in experiencing the new pajamas firsthand, booking a business-class seat on an eligible American Airlines flight is the way to go. Consider using points accrued through cobranded airline credit cards, such as the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite Mastercard® or the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® (please check rates and fees).
