British Airways to Launch Nonstop Flights from St. Louis to London in 2026

British Airways is expanding its reach in the United States with exciting news for travelers in the St. Louis area. Starting in April 2026, the airline will introduce nonstop flights from St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR). This new route will provide St. Louis residents with a second direct connection to Europe, following Lufthansa’s launch of nonstop service to Frankfurt three years ago.

The addition of this route not only enhances travel options for those looking to visit London but also opens up a vast network of connections to numerous destinations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, thanks to British Airways and its partner airlines. With this move, St. Louis will become the 27th airport in the United States served by British Airways.

Beginning April 19, 2026, British Airways will operate the STL-LHR route four times a week, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This schedule allows for convenient travel options for both leisure and business travelers.

For those looking to book flights with points or miles, there are several opportunities available. U.S. travelers with American Airlines AAdvantage miles can redeem them for seats on British Airways flights, as the two airlines are partners in the Oneworld alliance. However, travelers should be aware that taxes and fees can be significantly higher on trips to London, so planning ahead is essential.

Additionally, various credit card and transferable currency programs allow travelers to convert points directly into British Airways’ Executive Club. While Citi ThankYou Rewards doesn’t offer direct transfers to British Airways, points can be transferred to Qatar Airways Privilege Club, which uses the same Avios currency. From there, travelers can utilize tools to transfer those Avios to British Airways.

The Points Guy emphasizes the potential of credit cards to enhance travel experiences, enabling individuals to turn everyday spending into valuable rewards. This is why they provide extensive editorial content and card comparisons to assist travelers in finding the best credit card options to achieve their travel aspirations.

As British Airways prepares to launch its new route, travelers in the St. Louis area can look forward to expanded travel opportunities and the chance to explore the vibrant city of London and beyond.
