New Nonstop Flights to Dominica: Contour Airlines Expands Caribbean Access

Travel enthusiasts and beach lovers will soon have a new way to reach the stunning island of Dominica in the Caribbean. Starting September 24, Contour Airlines, a U.S. regional carrier, will introduce nonstop flights connecting Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) in Dominica with Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Contour Airlines will operate these routes using 30-seat Embraer regional jets, featuring a comfortable 2-1 seating arrangement. Passengers can expect a pleasant flying experience with complimentary beverages and snacks provided on all flights.

Travelers can book these new routes through Contour’s official website or via a partnership with American Airlines at AA.com. However, it’s important to note that reservations made through American’s website can only be completed with cash payments, not miles.

American Airlines initiated service to the island from Miami International Airport (MIA) in 2021, and United Airlines is set to follow suit in February 2025. Furthermore, BermudAir’s new subsidiary, AnguillAir, will connect Dominica with Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) starting in December.

Contour Airlines will also fill the gap left by Silver Airways, which abruptly ceased operations in June. Silver previously operated the DOM-SJU route until March. On the DOM-SJU route, Contour will compete with Caribbean Airlines, while it will be the sole operator on the DOM-STT route.
